I graduated in 2009 as bachelor of design at the University of Arts (HKU) theatre design in Utrecht.
Why are the Greek mythologies still performed today? My answer to that is because these plays are about human emotions and these emotions are still valid today. To me, theatre is about storytelling and transmitting information to a specific audience through experience. Theatre is one form to engage your audience emotionally with the message being told but the power of this should never be underestimated.
